I suffer from a rare spinal condition known as traumatic spondylolisthesis. Back in March and April of this year, I was in physical therapy for it. Although I had been going through excruciating pain for 8 years, I didn't know what exactly it was I had until February. One of the forms of therapy they recommended was something similar to the TENS unit but it released heat as well. It was relaxing and it helped my back out a lot. Having had experience with something like this TENS unit before, I knew I would easily be able to use it and have no problems.

The directions are pretty simple. The sticky squares go on your body wherever the pain is. Then you attach the cords that plug into the unit into the cords attached to the squares. After that, you look at the unit and decide what kind of pain relief you need: massage, beat or knead. The first time I used this, I went for the massage effect. It was rather relaxing. You can set it for as long as you want to at whichever level you choose.

I will admit that the first time they ever hooked up their machine to my back, the stinging sensation was a little painful. Of course at that time I hadn't had any pain relief whatsoever. After going in so many times, I got used to it and it eventually led to my feeling relaxed and ready to get on with my PT exercises. So with this TENS unit, I wouldn't recommend going full blast mode right away. Work your way into it.

Sadly for me PT did not take away all of the pain. I am currently on muscle relaxers and continuing with my exercises. To now have the option to use this TENS unit at home is a blessing. My husband doesn't always feel like massaging my back in the areas that hurt, so I can easily use this in moments like that. He also helps me out with putting the squares on my back as that is a rather hard place for me to reach myself.

The TENS unit is something I recommend to anyone with chronic pain who suffers from a condition like mine or similar to mine. Spondylolisthesis is no joke and none of us who have it or have other chronic pains should ever have to suffer through it. It brings joy to know that there are companies out there who care for people like me who don't go a single day without being in pain.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
