The Hardest Peace Book Review & Giveaway (Ends 10/14)

The Hardest Peace Book Review & Giveaway

About the book:
Kara Tippetts knows the ordinary days of mothering four kids, the joy of watching her children grow…and the devastating reality of stage-IV cancer.

In The Hardest Peace, Kara invites readers to see the grace of the everyday in all seasons of life and to live well even when the living is hard. This book is an invitation to join her in moving away from fear and control and toward peace and grace. Just as the thousands of people who read her blog know, Tippetts explores the hardest questions of life with rare beauty and honesty. Most of all, she draws them back to the God who is present, in the ordinary and the suffering, and shapes every life into the best story of all.

About Kara:
Kara Tippetts and her husband, Jason, have four children and are planting a church in Colorado Springs, CO. Cancer is only part of Kara’s story. Her real fight is to truly live while facing a crushing reality. She blogs faithfully at mundanefaithfulness.com.

I want to start out my review letting my readers know that this book touched me in ways that no other book ever has. Kara made me smile, brought me to tears and back again throughout her book. I love that at the end of each chapter she asks the readers questions in regards to what the chapter was about but to answer with stuff going on in their own lives. The first set of questions hit me... hard. All throughout my childhood and into my teenage years I thought I had the best childhood any child could ever have. I was totally wrong. It took some growing up on my part and a lot of thinking to finally realize that I was deprived during my childhood. I didn't do things a lot of kids out there got to do. I was pretty much shut in at home unless I was out riding around on my bike or hanging around people my parents deemed unworthy. Kara not only shared her own personal trials and tribulations but I walked alongside her trying to figure out my own. This book awakened something in me that has long since been left dormant for many years now. It's causing me to take a second glance at my life and all the things that matter. My grandmother passed away in 2012 to a different kind of cancer and that wounded me deeply. I shut her out during my relationship with my ex and she never deserved it. A lot of drama within the family prevented me from ever rekindling my closeness with her once I got out of that abusive relationship and with my husband. I live everyday with regrets involving her. I can only hope that I find forgiveness from her once I meet her in Heaven. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to review this amazing book and I can only hope my readers will follow suit and check it out themselves.

I have been given the opportunity to give away one of these amazing books to one of my lovely readers. It will change your life. Maybe not in many ways but I can guarantee at least in one.
